News - Aquatabs launched in Ghana

Wexford, Ireland – Medentech today announced that its Aquatabs brand of water purification tablets has been launched in Ghana.Aquatabs are effervescent tablets, sized for different volumes of water from 1l to 2500l, which kill micro-organisms in water to prevent typhoid, cholera, dysentery and other water borne diseases.

 

Aquatabs was launched during the World Health Organization international household water, treatment and storage conference in Accra, Ghana. “The launch of Aquatabs was very well received throughout the local media and was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Health of many African countries” declared Mr. Kevin O’Callaghan, who oversees sales and marketing in the Africa region.

 

“This latest launch is part of an ambitious global launch program to make Aquatabs available in countries where large percentages of the population do not have access to safe drinking water” said Mr. Paul Edmondson, Technical Director, Medentech. In addition he added, “Over 1.1 billion people do not have daily access to safe drinking water and this latest launch brings us closer to our goal of providing safe drinking water to 7 million people daily by the end of 2008.”
